SAM HARRISON

Sam’s career has taken him all over the world, before bringing him back to London to open his first restaurants: Sam’s Brasserie in Chiswick in 2005 and then Harrison’s in Balham in 2007. Before this he was General Manager for Rick Stein’s Operations in Padstow, Cornwall and also spent two years running restaurants in Sydney. Rick and Rebecca Mascarenhas backed him to open his restaurants and have been fabulous mentors to him. Sam’s was voted Time Out Best Local Restaurant, Evening Standard Best Value Restaurant in London and received 2 AA Rosettes for the quality of the food. His name was above the door at both restaurants; his aim was to provide the highest levels of hospitality & customer service alongside high-quality food, using the best seasonal ingredients. It proved to be a winning formula.

In the summer of 2015, after ten fantastic years of trading, he sold both restaurants to The Hawksmoor Group. Since selling he has been consulting for new restaurants and lecturing and teaching at the Hospitality School at Oxford Brookes University – all the time looking for the perfect site for a new restaurant. He has now found this with Sam’s Riverside which opened in Hammersmith in November 2019  https://samsriverside.co.uk
